About Us
In 1957 a small group of friends with a keen interest in photography met in a room at The White Horse pub. These informal meetings continued; no subscription was payable, but a collection was taken at the end of each meeting to cover the cost of hiring the room. Although now organized on a more formal basis, the warm friendly atmosphere continues and the club is still open to anyone with an interest in photography, either actively or as a spectator.
Affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through the East Anglian Federation (EAF), the club has access to knowledgeable speakers and judges.
The annual programme includes talks, print and projected image competitions (colour and monochrome), practical evenings, audiovisual presentations and inter-club competitions with other clubs in the area.
Club members have a keen interest in both film and digital photography. Competitions are open to both traditional and digital photographs.
Beginners are most welcome, with no obligation to enter competitions – just come along and enjoy seeing photographs produced by others.
The club has members involved in most areas and levels of photography, and the more experienced members are always happy to 'have a chat', and perhaps offer advice to those with less experience.
Visitors are welcome and can make two or three visits before deciding on joining.
Above all, the club prides itself on its friendly atmosphere and its warm welcome to everyone.
