Competition Themes for the season

These ‘theme’ definitions are meant to give you guidance and are not definitive.  Your imagination may allow a far wider interpretation of the theme than is provided here!  

 

Digital manipulation and creative photography is allowed unless specified otherwise.  

 

TOP DOG COMPETITIONS (all projected image)

 

Theme 1  Motion - Movement, passing of time, long exposure or even a photo of the sweeping hand of a clock would count for this, a Spitfire in flight with a blurred propeller, runners at a track or a Kingfisher’s dive caught in a split second of time.

Theme 2  Abstract - An image that questions our mind, what is it - or was it ? Can be created fully in camera or manipulated later using software.Think of something to hang on the wall of the chairman’s office in a big company or something other worldly. Get creative !

 

LEAGUE TABLE COMPETITIONS

 

These will all be ‘Open’ competitions in the 2025-2026 year.

PLEASE READ:  A reminder about plagiarism and authorship 

 

-  Competition entries (for both mainstream and Top Dog) should be all your own work. This means that every element of a picture should have been created by you. You must not use images from the web or other sources, nor should you use clip art.

 

-  Although we all like to pick up ideas from other people, you should not overtly or directly copy an image that is not yours. 

 

These are important points as we need to make sure everyone is judged on a level playing field. In addition, the EAF has the power to disqualify clubs found to be using other authors’ work or making copies of such work. Thank you.
